Our next round of dancing stars ...

The new lineup for "Dancing With the Stars" was announced today. Here's a link to an Associated Press story, but I'll give you the rundown here:

Susan Lucci, soap opera diva
Ted McGinley, killer of TV sitcoms
Brooke Burns, model-actress
Toni Braxton, singer
Lance Bass, former boy-band singer
Cloris Leachman, star of "Young Frankenstein" and the final seasons of "The Facts of Life"
Kim Kardashian, icky reality TV star
Warren Sapp, former NFL star
Misty May-Treanor, beach volleyball gold medalist
Maurice Greene, Olympic track star
Rocco DiSpirito, chef/restaurateur
Cody Linley, "Hannah Montana" co-star
Jeffrey Ross, comedian

With McGinley in the cast, I have to wonder if this means "DWTS" has jumped the shark. (Ted is the patron saint of jumping the shark.)

Should be an interesting season. I think I'll be rooting for Rocco, Cloris or, of course, Ted. Jest though I may, I'd love to see the guy win at something for once.

I was totally thinking the same thing about Ted McGinley!

OK, Cloris Leachman will be in it to win it. I hear that when she didn't get cast in the Broadway company of Young Frankenstein she actually challenged Mel Brooks to a duel, to show how strong and agile she still is. She's got something to prove. The athletes always have the edge, though, so we'll see who takes the trophy. I bet the money is on Misty.
